Poultry Science Experience
During my time at Auburn University I was able to gain valuable knowledge about Poultry Science through my Poultry Science courses. Through these courses I became familiar with the process of growing a broiler chicken, performing necropsies, and processing techniques such as: quality assurance, texture analysis, marination techniques, and developing products from normal and wooden breast chicken meat.

In addition to my classwork, I got involved with the Poultry Science Club. The Poultry Science Club at Auburn University is a club where young adults interested in the poultry industry come together to further their knowledge of the industry. At the Poultry Science Club meetings, speakers from different companies within the industry come out and give a brief presentation about their company and jobs. I became involved in the Poultry Science Club in the Fall of 2016 and in the Spring of 2017 I was elected the President of the club. During my time as president I participated in the College of Agriculture Board and Alabama Poultry and Egg Association Board meetings serving as the student liaison. Some of my additional responsibilities included recruiting guest speakers, scheduling club meetings, and mentoring junior members on academic and career issues. I also oversaw and coordinated the smoked bird fundraiser, networked with Poultry industry representatives to raise money for the club, and coordinated the Poultry Science Club's trip to IPPE.

My first career in the Poultry industry was during the Summer of 2017 I got the chance to do a Human Resources internship at Pilgrim's Pride in Enterprise, Alabama. I Gained valuable exposure to FMLA Compliance, HR Law and Regulations, Auditing, Recruitment and Hiring, and Interpersonal Conflict resolution.
